 Merit Badge Counselors

To all our Troop’s Merit Badge Counselors – our council has decided that new applications must be completed by all counselors (they are going to be issuing a new list).  Please see me for a new application.  All applications need to be returned to me for processing.

Congratulations to the Precision Motor Dirt Bike Drill Team, we won 1st place AGAIN in the Canoga Park Memorial Parade (in the category of Motorcycle Club).  Another nice trophy for the American Legion display case.  You motorcyclists should be quite proud of yourselves, as we competed against Harley and Triumph groups which were much better funded.  Scouts are just too cool!!

Also, those of you available for the August 14-15 Silhouette fundraising outing should see Karen to sign up.  It should be another wonderful 2 days in paradise – resetting targets, eating free food, shooting .22 rifles for recognition awards, and devouring the club’s delicious BBQ chicken dinner on Saturday night.  The first 10 to sign up are in.  Other will be put on a waiting list.

 Judy’s Stuff

We are in need of adult volunteers for a variety of tasks.  We haven’t been very good about listing some of the specific ways you could participate in the Troop.  Many of you might have an interest but are unsure what you could do.  Let me take this opportunity to start the discussion.  Several of the adult leaders have older boys who have already made Eagle and turned 18, or are about to.  So, for the Troop to continue as successfully as it has in the past, it is vital that we obtain “new blood” in the adult volunteer ranks.  Currently we are asking for anyone with an interest in the following:

                Outing Leaders (see Alex/Karen)
                Summer Camp Leaders (see Karen)
                Popcorn sales (see Karen)

Treasurer (see Judy)

Newsletter (see Judy)

Copying, collating,  Court of
                           Honor Packet (see Judy)
               Class B order/inventory (see Judy)
               Summer camp physicals/paperwork
                          (see Judy)
               Eagle knife ordering (see Judy)
Cal Poly Merit Badge Day Liaison
                          (see Judy)

Hospitality (see Jo Ann)

I’m sure there are other areas as well; please see Alex, Pauline, Karen, or Judy for more info.  Thanks!
