Greetings
to all- This is Camporee Month
That’s right; April is Las Colinas Camporee month.
It will be held at a new location, Tierra Rejada Ranch in
Moorpark
. My
understanding is that we will be camping in a Walnut Grove (minus gopher
holes). It is a new area, so
this should be different and exciting. I
would like to see the majority of the Troop attend this event (75%) and any
Scout who cannot attend, please let me know.
If you have soccer games, etc. you can come or leave midway during
the week-end. This is an
important event and our Troop should participate.
We have, as of now, three new
Scouts who joined in March – Collin, Brian, and Gray.
They have been attending meetings, so practice SCOUT SPIRIT by
letting them know who you are.
Last month we had our pre-camporee campout at Verdugo Oaks.
Along with our Scouts were Webelos from Pack 272.
Everyone had a great time, even when the wind blew the new Scouts
around at
4:00 a.m.
Well, that is it for now. Lots
of new and exciting things happening so attend the meetings and outings.

Quick reminder – if
your Scout is going to summer camp, the initial $75 deposit has already
been paid for 30 Scouts, we have only a couple of openings left – so see
me or Karen ASAP. The next
$100 is due by May 1st to Council.
Sorry about the short notice, Council just sent out the statement.
So, we need your commitment and $$ immediately.
Elaine Medina has
graciously volunteered to take over the uniform exchange, so see her if
you have excess or a uniform need.

May Fundraiser –
May 8th & 9th Silhouette setting.
See me if you want to participate in this fun event where you eat
free food, earn money for yourself and the Troop, campout for one night
and shoot .22 till you are too popped to shoot anymore.
Great fun and benefits our Troop, too.
Memorial Day Parade – The
Troop 464
Precision Motorcycle Drill Team will be
performing once again this year. Last
year we won
FIRST PLACE
in the Motorcycle Club at this parade, and
I expect no less this year. Get
your motorcycles warmed up, or see me if you need to borrow one.
The parade is Monday, May 31 at
11 a.m.
Practice
riding will be scheduled in late April or early May.
All new riders must participate in 2 practice rides; seasoned vets
need to practice only once.
