In-Box
           IT’S SUMMER BADGE TIME!
   Hi there, IT’S SUMMER!

How many of you Scouts have been paying attention to what is happening?  This Troop; Troop 464; you know, the Troop that you are part of; just got four, yes I said four…you know, 4 new Eagle Scouts, and within the next few months there will be two more.

This doesn’t just happen you know.  Troop 464 has not had an Eagle Scout for years.  These Scouts, all 6 of these Scouts worked hard to earn their Eagle Rank and that took time.  They had to earn at least 21 Merit Badges.

Take advantage of Summer!  Go to Summer Camp and earn three (3), four (4), five (5), or six (6) badges while at camp.  Have fun but work hard and have fun.  While you are home, read those Merit Badge Books and earn a Merit Badge or two.

During school you have other work to do and that makes earning these badges harder.  It is up to you to do this.  It doesn’t just fall into your lap.

We are proud to have you as part of Troop 464.  Make yourself and your parents, as well as other Scouts proud that you, too, will earn the right to be an Eagle Scout!

 Judy’s Stuff

Once again, for those who are going to summer camp - please, please pay your remaining balance ASAP.  I have enclosed my best guesstimate as to your balances, but I may have missed crediting your account for some Scouting expenses you paid, so please let me know if my records are incomplete.

I need your completed releases, copies of your insurance cards, and physicals for the new boys and older Scouts whose physicals are more than 2 years old.  Also, I have enclosed several items which might be helpful with respect to Whitsett, especially for parents of new Scouts.

The new order of Class B shirts is now in.  Contact me ASAP if you would like to purchase one of these shirts for $12 each.  The new shirts were a bit more expensive, so the cost is now $12.  The sizes start at men’s mediums.

 Backpacking Information

The grand finale for the Backpacking Merit Badge will be the long term trip on the John Muir Trail from Tuolome Meadows to Devil’s Postpile.  This is a total of 32.8 miles.  This adventure will take place July 7 – 12.
